Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute - IGTP
GCAT (GCAT|Genomes For Life ) is a biomedical research study led at the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) in Catalonia. Over the past decade GCAT has recruited and follow-up 20,000 volunteers, residents in Catalonia, aged 40-65, from which collected biological samples, health data, epidemiological and environmental data. The study focuses on understanding how genes, lifestyle, and environment interact to influence the risk and treatment of common diseases like diabetes, respiratory diseases, cardiovascular disease and cancer among others.
