INCLIVA manages and promotes the biomedical research of the University Clinical Hospital of Valencia (350,000 inhabitants), the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the University of Valencia and the Carlos Simon Foundation for Research in Women's Health. The Institute is included in the framework of centres of scientific excellence promoted by the Spanish Government.

The INCLIVA Reseach Group of IMPaCT-T2D is led by Felipe J. Chaves and includes researchers from the Clinical Hospital of Valencia Health Research Institute, specifically from Genomic and Diabetes Unit, Cardiometabolic Risk and Diabetes Research Group and Cardiometabolic Research Group in Primary Health Care. This  multidisciplinary team includes geneticists, endocrine physicians, primary care clinicians and bioinformaticians.
